Using Communication To Overcome Challenges

May 13, 2024

Success in trucking is an incredibly broad term. For those launching their own trucking business, success is not so much a destination, but rather a journey of a million milestones. Having a co-pilot and partner in your corner is the key ingredient that ultimately drives success for Senior Service Coordinator, Patrick Bertrand.

Patrick Bertrand

In our most recent Spotlight interview, Patrick highlighted that Expediter Services is unique in the space, in that they are “walking people through the business and helping them learn the ins and outs of business,” rather than just handing them the keys and wishing them good luck.

“We pour ourselves into the contractors in our community,” Patrick stated, “something that you rarely see in this industry.”

The service coordinator team at ES is backed by decades of experience, but experience alone isn’t enough. Driving success means listening, taking in feedback, and “treating the relationship like a marriage.” This approach is one of the reasons that first time fleet owners have a high success rate within our programs.

Whether you are just starting your truck ownership journey, or are miles down the road, having a support system and team that has your back can help you learn and grow your business. Patrick’s interview is just the tip of the iceberg.

HindSITE 2024: A Look Back At SITE 2024

April 25, 2024

Expediter Services’ pledge that community members will Never Stand Alone was on full display at SITE 2024. The 2-day event brought together over 160 trucking entrepreneurs, motor carrier representatives, equipment providers, and others from the ES Community all with a singular purpose, creating and exploring opportunities for those interested in building or expanding their trucking business.

Jason Williams

From expert panels to networking, the event was a huge success, and feedback from those in attendance has been incredibly positive, something that Jason Williams, President and CEO of Expediter Services, championed during our follow-up discussion simply dubbed – HIND-SITE 2024.

“What ES provides is pretty complicated to explain,” Williams pointed out during our conversation, “but when you come into the room and see our vendors and partner carriers it becomes real. It’s a community, not just brands stuck on a website.”

Watch the video below for a recap of the interview with Jason. Stay tuned for more content from SITE 2024 as we continue to reflect on and celebrate the Success In Trucking Engagement.

SITE 2024 Preview with Jeff Tacker

April 5, 2024

SITE 2024 took center stage as Jeff Tacker, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Commercial Officer for ES sat down in a recent interview with Jimmy Mac on the Dave Nemo Show. The focal point – opportunity.

Jeff Tacker

For the ES team, creating opportunities is the foundation of everything that we do. Every advantage available to ES Community members is meant to be a catalyst, or as Jeff puts it “a business generator.”

SITE is specifically designed to “create opportunities,” stated Tacker during the conversation. Where other industry events might address a single piece of the puzzle for an aspiring owner-operator or fleet owner, this event “brings together all of the different support and service components needed to start your business.”

Throughout the 2-day event, running April 11-12, in Southaven, Mississippi, attendees will have the opportunity to connect and learn from vendors, motor carriers, and service providers within the ES community serving as a one-stop shop for those interested in building a business or expanding their fleet.

Having the right people and pieces in place can make all the difference. At ES, we believe that from day one you should Never Stand Alone. If you are considering starting your own trucking business, join us at SITE 2024. You will be hard-pressed to find a community that is more committed to helping you succeed than the one that we have created here at ES. Space is limited, RSVP now or call us at 888-495-5755.

Seizing Opportunity With Frank Tufano of Panther Premium Logistics (a service of ArcBest)

April 4, 2024

With SITE 2024 rapidly approaching we had the opportunity to sit down with Frank Tufano, Director of Owner-Operator Recruiting at ArcBest, to discuss the upcoming event and opportunities for attendees.

Frank Tufano

Building a business in the trucking industry can go several different ways according to Tufano, with choices impacting success. What works for one person, doesn’t necessarily work for another, and you need to find what fits you and your business best.

During our conversation, Frank was quick to point out that SITE isn’t just another trucking conference. The intimate nature of the event opens the door for what he refers to as a “welcoming, supportive, and successful environment,” something that both his team and ES champion in their everyday interactions with aspiring small business owners.

“Conversations create opportunities, and that is what I am most excited about,” he reiterated. Throughout the event, attendees will have the opportunity to have questions answered and build relationships that can set themselves up for long-term success.

Ready to make the leap from driver to owner? SITE 2024 is an amazing opportunity to connect, learn, and grow your business. Business and Relationships With The Forward Team

April 2, 2024

As we close in on SITE 2024, we had a chance to sit down with Jeff Garra and Rachel Swanson from Forward to discuss the importance of having support structures in place as you launch your trucking business.

Forward

With decades of combined experience in the independent contractor space, Jeff and Rachel champion the need for small business owners to have a safety net in place to weather the ebbs and flows of the trucking industry.

For Rachel, who serves as Director of Capacity Development at Forward, the key to defining your path to success is “consistency and reliability.” 1-on-1 relationships are the key component the Forward team focuses on to reinforce these essential pieces of the puzzle.

Like ES, Forward’s ability to embrace new community members and help them learn the ropes is a real difference-maker, especially when so much is riding on the line.

However, Jeff, the Director of Enterprise Driver Relations, points out that relationships aren’t just between the ES and the business owner, or Forward and the business owner, but between all three. He highlights the “tight working relationship with ES,” as a three-legged stool that provides support and helps owners build “true American success stories.”

Those with an entrepreneurial spirit can learn more about ES, Forward, and all of our amazing partners at the upcoming Success In Trucking Engagement 2024, on April 11-12 in Southaven, Mississippi. Space is limited, RSVP now or call us at 888-495-5755.
