Opportunity, Success, & the Expedite Expo: Insights from Jason Williams
Jason Williams is a glass half-full type of leader and has been since Expediter Services’ (ES) founding, almost 18 years ago. When we sat down with him during our most recent podcast, we asked him about the outlook for the remainder of 2023 and found a common thread that ran throughout the conversation – “opportunity.”
In a year that has been personified by transition and turmoil, Jason was quick to point out that this is an opportunity for owner-operators and fleet owners to buckle down and focus on their business, stating “tight times are a proving ground for fleet owners.”
Having seen the ups and downs of trucking over the past couple of decades, Jason’s approach to business has filtered down to the ever-growing number of programs and advantages that have made ES a leader in the industry.
By nature, trucking is cyclical. There are good times and there are down years. Coming off the heels of COVID-19, we have seen record-breaking numbers in terms of freight and capacity entering the market, but as expected, the market has started to correct.
For Jason, safe, stable capacity is the ultimate goal to help weather the leaner years and reap the benefits of when the market bounces back. The key to finding safe, stable capacity revolves around investment and support.
Investing in partnerships and surrounding yourself with a great support network are the hallmarks of ES. One of the best opportunities to do both for owner-operators and fleet owners according to Jason, is at the annual Expedite Expo.
For individuals that are interested in the expedite industry or are already in the space and are looking to improve their business, the Expo serves as a much-needed venue for owner-operators and fleet owners to connect with vendors and partners, including ES.
Jason reminisced on ES’s humble beginnings at the annual event, a 10X10 booth, and mad dashes to Kinkos. Today, ES serves as the presenting sponsor and hosts the annual IN-SITE Dinner. Over the years the event has evolved, but one constant remains – the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and improve your business, especially by taking advantage of the services and benefits provided by the ES Community.
The 2023 Expedite Expo will run July 21-22 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Jason and other ES team members will be on hand to answer questions. Stop by booth #418 for ES, booth #606 for ES Truck Sales, and be sure to join us at the IN-SITE Dinner Friday evening at the Expo to hear from Jason and other industry experts, like Leah Shaver.
